On October 28, 1998, Oscar Berger Perdomo, in his capacity as Municipal Mayor of the Municipality of Guatemala, constituted usufruct for 50 years in favor of the Margarita Tejada Foundation for Down Syndrome of 4 blocks, for the development of the project .
After many efforts, especially due to the lack of financial resources, it was until March 22, 1999 when the first stone of the Margarita Tejada project was laid. Three years later, on March 7, 2002, the facilities of the Labor Training Center were inaugurated.
